This is one my favorite stories to tell 🤍 we first bought this land in March of 2021 and planned to build right away. We had the plans, the builder, and a design team. A few months in and everything fell apart, interest rates sky rocketed, an unexpected cancer diagnoses rocked our world, prices doubled on supplies, and we just knew it wasn’t wise to move forward. We had to pause all of it. And just wait. Over the next few years, we just prayed and waited. We were on the verge of selling and when we told our girls, our ten year old came into our room and said “we can’t sell this land. God gave this to us and we need to give it back to Him. Just like Abraham was willing to give Isaac and God provided another sacrifice, we need to give this to Him and trust Him.” We kept praying and God even closed several doors that we thought would lead to selling. One day when we were talking to a dear friend, he said “I could build the house for you” and that was the start of building on a dream we thought had died. Seeing all of it come to life feels like more than just watching a house be built. God has used this story to teach us to trust Him in a new way and every time we look at this house, we see it as a promise…. Not a promise that He will give us everything we want but a promise that we can trust Him and the stories He writes are always so much better than any we could write on our own 🤍
